He was 79 years old.&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;Born May 18, 1928, in Guernsey County, he was a son of the late Norman and Margaret Richards Browning. Edward was a Navy veteran of the Second World War, serving on the submarine &lt;a href=&quot;http://www.bergall.org/bergall.html&quot;&gt;U.S.S. Bergall&lt;/a&gt; (&lt;a href=&quot;http://www.history.navy.mil/danfs/b5/bergall-i.htm&quot;&gt;SS-320&lt;/a&gt;). Following his service, he worked for the Nickel Plate Railroad as a fireman on steam locomotives. We got him from a farmer, right out of the back of this truck.  And he came with all sorts of extras: mites for example, and at least a pound of worms, plus four extra toes!  He has two extra toes on each of his hind paws--we got a lot for our money, I tell you.  He’s super cute though, and super smart, and super willful too, does what he wants.  (Find videos and photos on the page I added here: link.)&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;So far he seems to be as smart as Border Collies are supposed to be: at ten weeks he knows come, sit, and fetch.  But sometimes he’s too distracted to obey.  We’re still working on that.</description>
